My very special guest today holds a Masters of Science in political sociology from the London School of Economics, a B.A. in international relations from the University of Toronto, and a certificate in Chinese language and culture from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He held various positions at the Canadian International Development Agency between 1988 and 2008, working on programs related to China, Russia, strategic policy and international financial institutions. He’s been posted three times to the Canadian Embassy in Beijing, and from 2011 to 2016, served as Director General of Canada’s official development assistance in Asia. Since August 2016, he has been the Consul General of Canada in Hong Kong and Macau. He also happens to be a huge hockey fan and loves supporting Canadian musicians in the city. It’s an honour to welcome to ATP Hockey Talks, Mr Jeff Nankivell.
