My guest today grew up in beautiful Toronto, Canada. He developed his love for hockey at an early age watching some of the Leafs all-time greats lace’em up at historic Maple Leaf Gardens. After High School, he accepted a scholarship to Plymouth State University, where he competed in multiple sports. Years later, he found himself in the middle of a democracy uprise in Thailand and swiftly followed in his family’s footsteps by diving head first into the world of journalism. He’s been living and working in Thailand since the early 90’s and is known in Bangkok as “The Godfather” of hockey. It’s my pleasure to introduce a fellow Canuck who’s doing amazing things to help create, promote and develop our great sport in South East Asia. Please welcome to ATP Hockey Talks, Mr. Scott Murray.

On the eve of game six of the Stanley Cup Finals, I sit down with the always popular Terry Whelan as he dives deep into hockey's history yet again. Today he tells the story of the book/movie Networth. It's a fascinating look into the business side of the NHL in it's early days and the beginning of what is now the NHL Players Association. I highly recommend the book and movie to anyone who wants a history lesson and an inside look at the corruption from those at the top.

My guest today is here to talk salary cap, the evolution of hockey and the play-in round of the NHL playoffs. He grew up and learned the game of hockey in Mississauga, Ontario. Although his playing career ended after high school, he continues to follow hockey closer than most. His knowledge of the game and everything that happens behind the scenes is impressive. He’s been living and teaching in Hong Kong for the last 7 years, is actively involved in Hong Kong’s ball hockey league and recently captained team Hong Kong at the Asian Ball Hockey Championships. Please welcome to ATP Hockey Talks, Mr. Paul McGeoy.

He’s currently working with the Hong Kong Academy of Ice Hockey and helping develop hockey across Asia. He is easily the biggest hitter in Hong Kong’s hockey world, both literally and figuratively. Please welcome to ATP Hockey Talks: Mr. Barry Beck.

One of my favourite humans, Terry Whelan dropped by the studio to do an incredible deep dive into one of my all time favourite hockey movies, Mystery Alaska.
My guest today is from beautiful Scarborough, Ontario. After finishing law school, he moved to Beijing to kick off his business career. He eventually joined a silicon valley law firm and was then named partner at New York firm, Baker McKenzie. He went on to lead a private equity fund and now continues doing projects between Beijing and New York. He twice led the AHL in scoring, was an All-star three times, a Calder Cup Champion, a Finnish League Champion and just last year was inducted into the AHL Hall of Fame. He’s known as an intense competitor with an incredible desire to score goals. It’s my pleasure to welcome to ATP Hockey Talks, Hall of Famer, Brad “Shooter” Smyth.
My special guest today is from one of my favourite towns on the planet, Antigonish Nova Scotia. Known for it’s hospitality, the Highland Games, and St. F X University, the Antigonish area has also produced some amazing athletes. In my opinion, he took on the hardest position in all of team sports, a hockey enforcer. His career has seen him play for fourteen professional teams, he was an AHL All-Star, led the league in penalty minutes multiple times is the most penalised player in professional hockey history and fought the toughest players to ever put on a pair skates. Like most enforcers, he was also a fan favourite who was always well respected and admired by his teammates. It’s my pleasure to welcome to ATP Hockey Talks, my friend, Dennis Bonvie.
